The doctor of chiropractic focuses on maintaining proper spinal function and its relationship to the nervous system and good health. When the spinal segments or other joints lose their normal function, joint degeneration and nervous system irritation may result. The doctor of chiropractic seeks to restore joint function by performing careful spinal adjustments, which improve joint motion and allow the nervous system to function properly, assisting the body to heal itself naturally — without drugs or surgery.
At Crawford County Chiropractic Chiropractic, I take a Wellness Approach to your health. It's a progressive plan from Relief Care to Corrective Care to Maintenance Care.
Most people enter my office for the first time with symptoms. Usually pain and dysfunction. Relief care is focused on relieving your symptoms and getting you feeling better. Treatment every 1-2 days is needed until you are feeling good. Symptoms can include neck pain, back pain, pain in the shoulders, elbows, wrists or hands, pain in the hips, knees, ankles or feet, and headaches. Or you are just not functioning normally, feeling like things are not moving correctly, causing you to sit, stand, lay, or walk different than your normal. During these visits the goal is getting you to feel good again.
Now that you are feeling better, you move on to corrective care. Treatment is 2-3 times per week until I see that your body is functioning good again. The goal here is to get the structural problems causing your symptoms to "hold" or trained to "function" optimally. This is neuromusculoskeletal re-education. Starting to get better communication between your dysfunctioning tissue and your brain is the key to wellness.
This is the best part. You are now feeling good and functioning good, and now we need to keep it that way. The frequency here is usually once every one to two weeks depending on your stress level. Keeping life's stresses from causing too much trouble and gaining optimal communication between your brain and your cells will allow you to be at your best!
Merriam-Webster says: the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal.
Graduating to maintenance care means your neuromusculoskeletal system is functioning as close to optimal as possible. Quality of life is the goal here. The longer you are consistent with maintenance care the less you will have to deal with your neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction.
Born and raised in Nevada Missouri. Graduated high school in 1996. Enlisted in the Air Force. Stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Started my chiropractic journey at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City in 2000. Picked Pittsburg to get started in 2006. Rented space and put an open sign on the door. Prayed hard and the rest is history.
I chose chiropractic because it is so awesome. My mom took me to Dr. Brad Shull in Nevada when I was a kid. After one adjustment, I was sold! It looked like so much fun to crack people all day and get paid! Then when I learned more about how much the chiropractic adjustment does for our bodies and how great I felt, I was all in!
Stress is a real problem. Both good stress and bad stress can weigh us down. Our nervous system takes in all of our stress through our senses, into the spinal cord and up to the brain, where a response is processed, then that information is sent back out to the body in a motor response. Chiropractic helps keep that communication flowing.
My purpose as a chiropractor is to serve everyone I can with chiropractic adjustments and improve their quality of life!
